Privacy Policy

naild. ("naild.", "we", "us") is building a marketplace for handmade nail art. Right now, this website is a pre-launch waitlist only — no products are sold here.
This policy explains what personal information we collect through the waitlist, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
Legal entity: [NAILD LEGAL ENTITY NAME] · Privacy contact: [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL] · Mailing address: [BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS]
What we collect
When you join the waitlist we collect:
- your email address;
- whether you're interested in buying, selling, or both;
- optionally, how you heard about us;
- a record of your consent to receive emails, including the date and time and the wording you agreed to.
Our hosting and analytics providers may also automatically log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. We don't ask for names, addresses, phone numbers, or payment information at this stage.
Why we collect it
We collect this information for one purpose: pre-launch communication. That means early access invitations, launch announcements, and occasional updates about the platform. We use the interest field to understand how many buyers and artists are waiting, and the "how did you hear about us" field to understand where people find us.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
How your email is used
Your email is used to send you the emails you consented to, plus any transactional message directly related to your signup (for example, a confirmation that you joined). Every commercial email we send includes a working unsubscribe link and identifies who we are.
Consent and unsubscribing
You give consent by ticking the consent box on the waitlist form. That box is never pre-checked, and we keep a record of when you consented and to what.
You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email, visiting our unsubscribe page, or emailing [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. We'll action it promptly.
Where information is stored and who processes it
Waitlist information is stored in a managed cloud database and processed by third-party service providers that help us run this site and send email — including our website hosting provider, our database provider, and our email delivery provider. These providers process information on our behalf and may store it on servers outside of Canada.
How we protect it
Waitlist entries are not publicly visible anywhere on this site. Access to the database is restricted to authorized administrators and trusted server-side code, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect and who can reach it.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist entries until launch communications are complete or until you ask us to delete your information, whichever comes first. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of your email and consent history so we can honour your request and demonstrate consent, as required under Canada's anti-spam rules.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL] and we'll respond within a reasonable period. We may need to confirm you control the email address in question.
Contacting us about privacy
Privacy questions can be sent to [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL], or by mail to [NAILD LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS]. naild. is being built in British Columbia, Canada.
Changes to this policy
As naild. grows — particularly once the marketplace opens and transactions begin — this policy will be updated and expanded. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and if the changes are significant we'll let waitlist subscribers know by email.
This document is a plain-language draft prepared for naild.'s pre-launch website. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
